One of the most life-giving scriptures I have ever encountered is found in John 15:16: “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last, and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.”

Let that sink in—you are not an accident. You are not a random existence. You are a divine selection! Your very life is the outcome of God’s purposeful choice. The breath in your lungs, the path you walk, the gifts you carry—they are all orchestrated by the One who knew you before the foundations of the world. You did not create yourself, and you are not a self-made success. Everything you are and will become is the result of His sovereign plan. He loved you before He formed you. He shaped you with destiny in mind. And the beauty of it all? Nothing—no failure, no weakness, no darkness—can ever diminish His love for you. As Paul the Apostle proclaimed, “Nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God” (Romans 8:39). His love for you is eternal, unshakable, and unstoppable.

But being chosen is not just about being loved—it is about being purposed. One of the greatest lessons I have learned is that I was created to be productive. The scripture declares that I was appointed to bear fruit—fruit that lasts. And guess what? So were you. Fruitfulness is the mark of success, and true success is fulfilling the purpose for which we were created. Every person has a unique calling—some are destined to be accountants, some artists, some lawyers, some teachers. The world’s definition of success is achievement, status, and wealth, but God’s success is becoming who He designed us to be. We were not created to chase empty ambitions, but to walk in divine purpose, impacting the world for the greater good.

And here’s the incredible truth—God is fully invested in our success. Just as a farmer tends to his crops with care, ensuring they have the nutrients, sunlight, and water they need to thrive, so God ensures that we have everything necessary to become the best versions of ourselves. He may not always give us what we want, but He will always provide what we need to grow, develop, and flourish.

The most essential things a plant needs to produce sweet fruit are not always pleasant. Fertiliser, for example, is often made from bitter and unpleasant substances, yet it is crucial for growth. Likewise, the challenges and hardships I have endured are often the very things that cultivated greatness within me. And the same goes for you. The trials, setbacks, and disappointments in your life are not pointless—they are divine fertiliser, enriching the soil of your soul, preparing you for a harvest beyond your imagination. Only God knows how to turn pain into purpose, sorrow into strength, and obstacles into opportunities.

And here is the divine assurance: God will never allow anything into our lives that does not serve His purpose. Every experience—no matter how difficult—is filtered through His sovereign hands. Alan Redpath put it beautifully: “There is no circumstance, no trouble, no testing, that can ever touch you until, first of all, it has gone past God and past Christ, right through to you. If it has come that far, it has come with a great purpose.” So refuse to be dismayed. Refuse to let fear take root. Instead, lift your eyes and embrace every season as part of God’s master plan—knowing that even the manure in your life is being used to produce an abundant harvest.

The real question is not whether God loves us—His love is eternal. It is not whether His purpose for our lives will be fulfilled—it most certainly will. The challenge is: will we believe it? Will we align our thoughts with His? Will we trust His process even when it doesn’t make sense?

This, my friend, is the anchor of our souls!

May the love of God and His peace, which surpass all human understanding, fill your heart now and always.
