Peer review process
Every research article in JPPAS passes through editorial assessment and double-blind peer review before a final editorial decision is recorded.
Six stages, start to publication

Editorial assessment
The editorial office checks scope, ethics approval, reporting standards, originality and formatting. Out-of-scope manuscripts are returned quickly so authors lose no time.

Double-blind review
Two or more independent reviewers assess a fully blinded manuscript. Reviewers declare conflicts of interest before accepting an invitation.

Revision process
Authors receive collated reviewer reports and an editorial summary, and respond point by point with a tracked revision.
- 4
Final editorial decision
The Editor-in-Chief weighs reviewer recommendations and issues the decision, which is recorded immutably in the editorial audit trail.

Production
Copy-editing, typesetting, proofing with the corresponding author, metadata preparation and DOI registration.

Publication
The article publishes open access, is deposited in the LAB repository and appears in the journal, publications and research-output listings.

- Significance and originality of the contribution to flourishing scholarship
- Theoretical grounding, including engagement with agapology and spirituality where relevant
- Methodological rigour, transparency and appropriateness of analysis
- Ethical conduct, participant protection and reflexivity
- Clarity, structure and accessibility of the writing
- Fair, respectful treatment of the communities the research concerns
Become a reviewer
We invite scholars and experienced practitioners in positive psychology, agapology, spirituality, wellbeing science and community research to join the JPPAS reviewer panel. Reviewers commit to returning a report within four weeks, declaring conflicts of interest and maintaining the confidentiality of every manuscript.
