Submission journey

  1. 1

    Submission

Authors send the manuscript and a blinded copy to the editorial office with a cover letter and author declarations.

  2. 2

    Editorial assessment

The Editor-in-Chief and Managing Editor check scope, ethics, originality and reporting quality before review.

  3. 3

    Double-blind peer review

At least two independent reviewers assess the blinded manuscript; author and reviewer identities are withheld from each other.

  4. 4

    Revisions

Authors respond point by point to reviewer comments and submit a tracked revision within the agreed window.

  5. 5

    Final decision

The Editor-in-Chief issues accept, minor revision, major revision or reject, recorded in the editorial audit trail.

  6. 6

    Production

Copy-editing, typesetting, proof approval, metadata preparation and DOI registration.

  7. 7

    Publication

The article is published open access and deposited in the LAB repository with a permanent link and citation.
