Privacy notice

What information we hold, why we hold it, and the choices you have. Written plainly, without legal fog.

This notice covers loveandbliss.org and the programme, research and journal services reached through it. It is maintained by LOVE AND BLISS (LAB). Company limited by guarantee, registered in England and Wales (No. 16147606).

Who we are

LOVE AND BLISS (LAB) is the parent organisation for The LAB Institute (research and ethics), LAB Press (publishing) and our flourishing programmes, including the Bliss Enhancement Programme (BEP). Our registered address is 128 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX, United Kingdom.

Information we collect

  • Account details — name and email address when you register, or the basic profile released by Google or Microsoft if you sign in with them.
  • Programme information — screening answers, consent records, assessment responses, practice logs, reflections and workbook entries you choose to enter.
  • Journal and repository submissions — author details, manuscripts, reviews and editorial correspondence.
  • Technical information — standard server and security logs needed to keep the service available and protected.

Why we use it

  • To deliver the programme you enrolled in and keep your progress.
  • To carry out approved research, on the basis of the consent you gave.
  • To run peer review, editorial and publishing workflows.
  • To send service messages such as consent confirmations and programme notices.
  • To safeguard participants where a disclosure indicates risk of harm.

How research data is separated

Programme facilitators support your practice; they do not have access to your assessment scores or individual assessment responses. Research records are analysed against a participant code rather than your name, and the link between the two is restricted to the principal investigator. Your written reflections are private by default and are only shared with a facilitator if you choose to share them.

Your choices

  • You may ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • You may ask us to correct information that is wrong.
  • You may withdraw from a study at any time, from your own account, without giving a reason and without affecting any other service.
  • You may ask us to delete your account information. Data already included in a completed analysis may need to be retained for research integrity; we will tell you clearly if that applies.
  • You can unsubscribe from non-essential email at any time.

Retention

Programme and account records are kept while your account is active. Research records are kept for the period stated in the participant information sheet for that study, then disposed of in line with the approval given for it.

Cookies and analytics

We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and to protect the site from abuse. We do not sell personal information and we do not run advertising trackers.
